Hey friends! Today I’ve teamed up with Metrie, North America’s leading manufacturer and distributor of interior finishings, to talk about moulding. Now I know this is one of those topics that can be overwhelming as a homeowner who knows nothing about selecting and installing it in their home. But I am here to tell you that this is one of the most important interior finishings in your home. It truly can transform a space and we are going to talk about how it can do that for you.

Interior finishes like crown moulding, trim and interior doors evoke feeling into a room.

Picking interior finishes to match the style of your home can add instant character and charm to your home. I love walking into a home and instantly feeling consistency of the style of the home from the exterior all the way through the interior.

Moulding and other interior finishings can add depth to a room.

Crown moulding draws the eye up, and can make a small space feel bigger (and more luxurious) when you take the right approach. This bathroom instantly looks bigger with these gorgeous doors and trim pieces accenting the all white brick walls.

I absolutely love using crown moulding to define a space. Just take a look how it makes a ceiling pop from the walls and make a statement.

Interior finishes can help define a space.

There are so many people loving neutral interiors these days. White on white, grey with white are so popular right now. Interior finishes really separate the walls from the ceiling and floor as well as from the furnishings in the room.

Detailed doors can make the room pop.

A beautifully designed interior door can make a room go from bland to a custom look. Adding these architectural details can truly set your home apart from others.

    1. Love your ideas. Agree with you about molding. I live in a 120 year old house and it had old picture molding, but I added 4″ molding in each room and it looked like a new room. Thanks for all your advice. Love your blog.
