Simple & Personal DIY Gift Tags Tutorial

DIY Gift Tags

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is finally upon us! The twinkling lights, the smell of a fresh Christmas tree and all of the get togethers with family and friends. There is nothing like it. I must admit however, that I am one of those people – the last minute shopper people. I actually love the thrill and each year as I sit on Christmas Eve wrapping my gifts (possibly after a little holiday cheer), I pledge to myself that next year I will do this earlier.

This year I wanted to do something a little different for gift tags. I LOVE a prettied up gift, but I wanted to do something memorable, so I sat down and went through all of my photos for the year and decided to turn them into the gift tag. Each tag will feature my favorite picture from the year of the person that the gift is going too and then I would simply write who it is from in the corner.

I decided on a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2″ sized tag as I thought it would perfectly fit on most gifts. I converted all of the photos to black and white and left a 1/4″ border so that I could write who it was from. I found this fantastic red velvet ribbon on the wooden spool for $5 at TJ Maxx (which I appropriately stocked up on), the polka dotted paper at Homegoods and broke out my gold glitter tape and ornaments.

The result absolutely thrilled me. Don’t you love when something turns out exactly as you see it in your head!!! I can’t wait to give these out. My hope is that these tags are something that my family and friends will set aside and keep as a memory from this year. Fanciest holiday wishes to you all!!!
