Vintage Robot Party

Last month I was able to design and style a party for the cutest little boy. Logan’s daddy loves vintage robots and thought it would be fun to share this with his little one. Logan’s mommy- Aimee and I came up with a modern twist using a bright yellow and white chevron stripe with a graphic turquoise dot fabric by Michael Miller. I love how bright and summery these 2 colors are. Of course I had to throw in a splash of red!

I made poster size images and mounted them on foam core for the backdrop and now he has them for his room! That’s the best when you can take elements from your home and use them for the party or/and use them back in your home once you are done.

The fabulous robot cake was made by Esmeralda of Sin City Sweets and I had asked her to make a plain white cake with coordinating robots out of fondant around the side. She made a darling number 2 for the top.

I always try to coordinate the kind of candy or food offered to the theme. For this we decided on red licorice wheels, and  turquoise sixlets & yellow gumballs to look like nuts and bolts.

I love that these mini macaroons look like baby wheels. Aimee thought they looked like mini hamburgers!!

And you always have to have the guest of honors favorite food present!! Logan LOVES french fries. So I created him these coordinating cone cups for the kids to carry around.

We can’t forget these amazing cookies by Poppy Bake shop crowned with Charynn from Two Sugar Babies‘ custom fondant toppers! Charynn is SO fabulous and if you have not used her yet you HAVE too!

Aimee set up a kids craft table and had paper robots for the kids to draw, paint, glue and glitter. Then they were hung up with clothes pins on twine for everyone to enjoy (also great added banner decoration).

We placed blow up world balls in a wagon (UGH! and can not find the link where I saw this fabulous idea- so if any of you know please email me so I can give proper credit.) with a cute little sign. The kids loved these and then were able to take them home as favors.

Lastly, Logan’s Daddy and a friend made these amazing robots that the kids could take pictures with. They loved running up behind them and making funny faces.

And I just LOVE this picture of Logan in front of his table. We had Holly at Planet Pudge make him a custom tee to match his party decorations and she did a fantastic job!!
