Hello! It’s your Hey Girls, Pamela and Katie back with a fun DIY project for some fall decorating ideas. These marbled ceramic pumpkins are great for dressing up your dinner table or just about any spot in your home.
DIY Marbled Ceramic Pumpkins:
- Small ceramic Pumpkins (we found ours in the dollar spot at Target)
- A disposable container deep enough to fit your pumpkin
- 3-4 bottles of new nail polish in your choice of colors
- Warm water
- Bamboo skewer or large toothpick
- Wax paper
Step 1: Fill container with warm water.
Step 2: Carefully pour a little of each color nail polish onto the top of your water. It should disperse in the water, NOT clump up and drop to the bottom (that means it’s too old). Move quickly onto step 3.
Step 3: Slowly submerse your pumpkin into the water and keep pushed down under the water. Using your skewer, carefully remove the excess nail polish from the water by dragging your skewer along the surface. Then carefully pull your pumpkin out and place on a piece of wax paper.
Step 4: Let dry for 1-2 hours. Make sure it is dry to the touch before using it as a display or as part of a table’s place setting.
Make up a bunch of these little pumpkins with the whole family. Everyone can choose their favorite colors and create one of a kind pieces of art. Use colors that coordinate with your homes decor and place these around the house for the holidays. Add a little tag with guests names or one simple word, like “thankful” and place them on everyone’s place setting instead of a place card. Most importantly, have fun getting your hands messy with this easy project.
