Hey there! I’m Ashley, from Ashley Stafford Curated, and as a mom of two young girls, holiday crafts with kids are on the top of my list of favorite things along with this easy turkey pinecone tutorial I have for you.
These pinecone turkeys are a great kids craft because they’re easy to make, they allow for lots of creativity with all the possible color combinations, and later, they can serve as place card holders or decorations for your Thanksgiving table. We have them ALL over the house. My girls love playing with them as toy figures, but I recommend keeping the hot glue gun out if that’s the case for your family ; )
Supplies Needed (available at your local craft store):
- Pinecones (don’t forget to bake them first if found from your yard)
- Kid-friendly paint and paintbrushes
- Orange Felt
- Googly Eyes
- Hot Glue Gun
Step 1: Paint the pinecones.
Step 2: While the pinecones dry, cut small triangles out of the felt, and glue two eyes to each triangle.
Step 3: Lay pinecone on it’s side, and hot glue the “face” to one of the scales on the top. Then, hot glue 3-5 feathers between the last row of scales and the bottom of the pinecone. Let cool and you’re done!
