I don’t know about you but I love on the weekends to get dressed up and go out with my family. It is one of those things I count as a luxury. Especially on Sundays for brunch. We have a favorite restaurant we like to go to and I love to put on my heels and have a mimosa! I think my style is somewhat preppy with a mix of glam and mommy comfort. Such a contradiction I know, but give me some denim and a great necklace and then you’ve got it about right. So when Shabby Apple contacted me to try out some of their items, I thought why not. They have a reputation for high quality clothing and their photos on their site are so drool worthy. I mean you just want to jump right into them! Of course I wouldn’t mind being dolled up by their team that makes those ladies looks so gorgeous too! With all that said, I wanted to see what the fit and quality was for myself. I was definitely over joyed when my package arrived and definitely they did not disappoint.
I chose this gorgeous turquoise green lace skirt. I thought it would look great with a chambray shirt for my Sunday brunch with the family. And well I am here to tell you that this is one of the most gorgeous skirts ever. I love the length- it hits mid calf which is so flattering and it has a fit and flare shape to it. I think that style of skirt is one of the most flattering for most women. Shows off your curves! The white band on the bottom has a beautiful ripple. It is so flowy and feminine. The skirt is also fully lined with a side zipper so no need to wrench your arms behind you to get the zipper up. How many of you can not stand a zipper in the back of a skirt like me??
You all know how much Lauren loves the horses so this is a favorite spot on our way home from breakfast to stop. I did not mind one bit stepping out and getting some mud on my heels. These little guys are just too sweet! Of course I think they were a little extra friendly this time because they wanted my flowers.
I really do think you can mix mom style and still dress up and it be classic. Picking a skirt like this one and pairing it with a chambray shirt is perfect for a little family brunch. You could even dress this skirt up with this beautiful blazer and it would be perfect for a garden wedding. I think it is so important to have pieces in your wardrobe that can be versatile. This skirt is definitely one of them! I would love for you to pop over to Shabby Apple and let me know which pieces are your favs. This skirt with the gold band is on my wish list as well as this blue and white dress. It’s hard for me to stay away from anything in my signature color! Do you have a mom style that you like to stick too? What is your favorite piece in your closet that goes with everything?
