Begin with a fitted sheet that’s pulled tight over the mattress so the base is completely smooth and free of wrinkles.
Lay a flat sheet on top of the fitted sheet, making sure it’s even on all sides. Tuck the sides and foot of the sheet using hospital corners, which gives the bed that structured look hotels are known for.
Place a lightweight blanket or a thin coverlet over the flat sheet to create a breathable middle layer.
Now it’s time for the main warmth layer: a duvet insert inside a soft, washable cover.
If you want a little extra style, add a bed scarf or a small decorative runner at the foot of the bed.
Place your sleeping pillows first, propping them up against the headboard for support. Then add one or two decorative pillows in front to give the bed a finished, balanced look without overcrowding it.
Take a moment to gently smooth each layer so it stays neat but doesn’t feel stiff or overly tight.
