Today I thought it would be fun for me to share with you my simple fall front porch this season. With a few little changes, our porch is finally ready for autumn.

It still has not totally cooled off here in Dallas so I pushed switching my summer decor a bit longer than I usually do.

Typically I am transitioning my porch by the end of August or the beginning of September. I like to have purchased my wreath and place faux pumpkins outside while I wait for the stores to get real pumpkins in.

We have such a large porch space and until we start doing some of the landscaping, I am keeping the decor relatively small and close to the door area rather than extending it out down towards our walkway.

There are a few main changes I do every time I transition my porch decor from one season to the next.

My wreath, planters on either side of the door, and my doormat generally get refreshed with new pieces.

I shopped a lot of what I already had in my attic for my porch and replaced the plants in my tall planters with these faux topiaries that I have had for the last four years.

Even though I have had them for years they still look amazing.

I also kept the tall gold lanterns (similar) I have had on my porch from the spring/summer season and just added pumpkins clustered in front of them.

So can you tell which pumpkins are real and which ones are fake?

If you guessed the two green ones then you are correct!

I have what I call a “loving pile” of pumpkins that I love to use each year.

My husband probably does not call it that and would rather me pair them down, but I think you can never have enough faux pumpkins.

I do have a trick to getting my real pumpkins to last through November though. I know a lot of people do the vinegar bath but that has never worked for me.

I like to use this uv resitant spray on them and it helps them hold even sitting in the bright sun each day.

I snagged this gorgeous magonlia wreath at the beginning of the season and it has this gorgeous rust colored velvet ribbon tied to it.

I could easily see this being used through Christmas and just changing the ribbon.

It’s 24″ wide so it is big and I love that oversized scale.

Another thing I change ever season is my layered doormats.

I have been using this knot jute doormat for a few seasons and I love its’ versatility.

This little layered striped matt is so pretty and comes in three colorways. This one is the tan and white.

It’s also washable so I can just through it in the washer when it gets dirty from the weather.

I have these cute white benches on either side of my porch and I love adding fun pillows to them each season.

I have never had a porch that was as wide as this so it has been fun finding cute outdoor pillows to use here.

I got these cute rust colored wheat pillows that pop the color from the ribbon in the wreath.

They are not outdoor pillows but I used my uv resistant spray on them and have had no problem with them getting bleached by the sun.

I also found these tan and white outdoor plaid pillows that have this cute white fringe on them.

They are such a great find and I will be adding some more pillows from them for my benches next season.

This porch is so much fun to decrate each season and I will be adding some Halloween decor to it really soon so stay tuned!
