A modern farmhouse powder bathroom full of unique modern style accents for a truly inspiring and beautiful bathroom for guests. Showcasing ideas for small powder room ideas and budget-friendly decor.
Finally, I can knock another room in our home off the list! I am so excited to share our modern farmhouse powder bathroom reveal with you today!
I shared on IG Stories that I had begun almost 2 months ago and it should have taken me less time but life got the better of me. Last week I shared the design plans I had for this space and how we went from an all white space to what we have now.
Let me share with you again what our powder bathroom looked like when we moved in.

And this is what we have now. It’s such a big difference!
The first thing I decided to do was add wallpaper. But I wasn’t sure how long I was going to want it up, to be honest. So I started researching removable wallpaper and loved that it was fairly easy to install and damage-free to the walls when I wanted to take it down. Last week I shared some of my current favorite ones so if you are looking then you will want to check that post out. I will be sharing a “tips and hints” post on removable wallpaper in the next few weeks because I learned a lot of lessons doing this project that I think would be beneficial for you.
When I was looking at wallpapers, I wanted something that was not too dark since this is such a small space but I wanted something that would give big impact. I settled on this grey and white buffalo check removable wallpaper and I couldn’t be happier. I have some leftover and I am dreaming up where to put the rest of it!
I kept these white faux bois sconces I had picked out when we moved in and still love them just as much today as I did then. They are very unique and remind me of driftwood from the beach. I always think this is such a good place to add something fun and different in your home. Get a little wild friends and pick something a little more whimsical and fun when decorating your powder room!
I had these hand towels monogrammed for us by this darling little esty shop in navy and white. I layer it on top of a regular hand towel for a more luxurious touch. I also updated our towel ring and toilet paper holder to these more substantial ones. The builder-grade ones felt cheap and when you are biulding this is a great area to save some money and just replace after you move in.
This is where I love to save a little money when designing a space. I love to add beautiful soaps and greenery to a guest/powder bathroom but nowadays with places like Homegoods, Tuesday Morning, ect, it is so much easier to find these little pieces very affordably. I actually have space in my attic where I store faux greenery, vases and other decor items (you can see it HERE) so when I am freshening up a space, I can run up there and grab something.
I found this grey and white chevron rug at Target. It is sold out online but I found it in blue which is equally as gorgeous. I love the subtle pop of contrast pattern to the wallpaper and tile flooring.
You can get all the building sources + paint colors from our home HERE.
I found this amazing blue and white indigo wall basket at Homegoods. It is such a statement piece and it is GORGEOUS in person. I love the texture and rich color it adds. If you remember to the original design plans for this space, I was going to do a coastal blue and white art print but when I found this I loved it even more.
When we have guests over I always have the candle lit in here. It smells so good and gives a warm glow. I placed it on my favorite striped tray and added some decorative matches in a mercury glass jar. The jar comes in a set of 6 and they are actually votive holders. I love using them to hold small floral arrangements, q-tips in my master bath, etc.
I saw my friend Kristy do this in her bathrooms and thought it was just brilliant. I found a tall glass canister similar to hers and have it in the corner for holding toilet paper. I loved it so much in here that I did this in our master bathroom too.
So there you have it! I hope you love these affordable updates I made to create this modern farmhouse powder bathroom. It’s such a fun look and I can’t wait to do more removable wallpaper in our home.
