I decided to go with a simple orange and blue autumn fall table this time. The blue is a staple color of mine as you know and orange is a classic color for this season. I added in rustic elements to fit the outdoor setting and lots of candles for ambiance.
So I thought I would walk you through how I designed this table so you can pop over to your local Tuesday Morning and look for similar pieces to make your own harvest table for a beautiful night entertaining with friends.
Simple Orange and Blue Autumn Fall Table
Create layers with linens.
Creating layers with your linens adds warmth and depth to your table design. I love to even have a tablecloth that is a little smaller than your table (I know shocking since you typically don’t do this), to expose the beautiful wood of the outdoor table. This also acts like another layer to your table setting.
I then like to pick a runner. I choose this beautiful blue linen runner for my blue pop of color. The ruffles are so fun and girly! This is a great foundation for the decor you choose for the center of the table.
Add layers to your place settings.
I am all about the layers as you can tell. This is yet another great spot to do it. Use a charger or seagrass mat like the one I picked from Tuesday Morning, then layer on a beautiful white plate. I fell in love with the scalloped edge and bead detail of these plates. They add a pretty pattern to the setting.
Next, you can either add a smaller salad plate or keep it more simple and just do something fun in the center like I did. I found these wood coasters and popped a little pumpkin from the grocery store on top.
This would even make a great little party favor if you added a tag to the top with some ribbon.
Create a DIY element.
I love adding in a touch of something I have made to my table decor. It personalizes it with a flare of your style and I think people notice these little touches.
I created these DIY napkin holders with some tags from Tuesday Morning and applique stickers. Then I used some ribbon I had to tie them around my napkins and flatware for a fun whimsical touch.
I love how it makes you feel like you are unwrapping a gift to use your utensils!
One of my favorite things to do is use cloth napkins. I think it is so much nicer for an outdoor party than paper napkins. I loved the preppy stripe and blue and white pattern of these ones from Tuesday Morning. They balance the color from the runner to the settings.

For the center of the table, I found these two glass hurricanes at Tuesday Morning. I started with them and then added in other fall elements. I loved the texture of the wicker on them and they add height to the table.

From there I used some greenery. These potted plants are such a staple and would look good in a bookcase, on a kitchen counter and in a table design just like this. Create ambiance with candles.
This is my absolute favorite thing to do for a dinner table and it is even more stunning in the evening with our twinkle lights on.
