Sharing some ambercolored fall home decor ideas all from Hobby Lobby. Easy affordable fall decor pieces to help transition your fireplace mantel from summer to fall.
It’s that time of year again when it is time to put away all your summer decor and make way for pumpkins, fall leaves, and amber-hued decor.
I like to use this time before Labor Day to really figure out what I am going to do for Fall decor. I like to mix it up and alter my color schemes, add in some new fresh decor pieces, and overall brighten the space for the autumn season.
I love to head to Hobby Lobby to get my key Fall decor pieces and currently, their Fall decor shop is 40% off.
They truly simplify the process of seasonal decorating with their up-to-date color palettes and patterns as well as their on-trend pieces.
My best suggestion is to make sure to grab these seasonal decor items before the official start of the season because they sell out quickly!
Before you head off to your nearest store, let me share my seasonal decorating pointers and my Hobby Lobby finds. You will love these pieces and you can add them to your list!

One of the first places I like to decorate for Fall is the fireplace mantel.
The mantel is the focal point of most living rooms so it should get extra special attention for the seasonal decor changes you make to your home.
When to decorate your mantel for Fall
You may be asking when you should start decorating your mantel for fall.
I recommend starting decorating your fireplace mantel for Fall a few weeks before the official start of the season.
Typically, Fall begins around mid-September, so aiming to decorate your mantel in early to mid-September would be a great time.
This gives you enough time to embrace the cozy and festive atmosphere of Fall before the season is in full swing.
However, personal preferences vary, so feel free to adjust the timing based on your own schedule and the atmosphere you want to create in your home.

Best Fall color schemes to use
There are lots of beautiful Fall color schemes you can use but I thought I would share some to help inspire your Fall decor. Some may be a little unexpected and whimsical!
- Warm Neutrals and Earth Tones: Use colors like rich browns, deep oranges, warm yellows, and rustic reds. These colors evoke the cozy and natural feeling of fall.
- Rustic Greens and Browns: Incorporate shades of olive green, muted greens, and various brown tones. This palette brings a rustic and earthy vibe to your mantel.
- Harvest Hues: Combine shades of pumpkin orange, deep cranberry red, golden yellow, and warm brown for a traditional fall color scheme that’s reminiscent of harvest time.
- Muted Jewel Tones: Opt for subdued jewel tones like deep burgundy, plum, navy, and emerald green. These colors can add a touch of elegance and sophistication to your mantel decor.
- Naturals and Whites: Create a serene and simple look by using neutral tones like beige, cream, white, and light gray. Intersperse these colors with natural elements like dried leaves, pinecones, and branches.
- Blue and Copper Accents: For a unique twist, pair deep blues with copper or bronze accents. The combination of these colors can create a more modern and unexpected fall look.
There are so many fun and unique color combinations to use and create a completely different look from the year before.

What to use to decorate your fireplace for Fall
There are lots of Fall themed decor pieces to use to decorate your mantel for Fall, but I like to get a little creative with some more evergreen decor pieces that can easily transition from season to season.
We have a beautiful oversized one in this house and it needs pieces that have height as well as can tie the decor around the base of the fireplace to the mantel decor.

I found these amazing velvet pumpkin picks that had 3 hues of amber color in them. They were actually the starting point for my design.
I used 6 of them in this tall rustic vase from Hobby Lobby and simply tied a wood bead garland around the neck of the vase. Simple and easy but it looks collected and layered.
I also found some smaller mini velvet pumpkins in beige and brown velvet that I clustered in this wood scalloped bowl.
I simply tucked some small fall leaf picks to soften the look and make it look fuller.

I also added a few to the base of my mirror with more of the fall picks tucked into the base of them. It almost looks like little pumpkins peeking out from a pile of leaves!
Your fall decor doesn’t need to be complicated.
Simply remember to pick a color scheme, add pieces that elevate the decor, and use symmetry.
So get your shopping list together for your home fall decor and head off to your nearest Hobby Lobby.
I can’t wait to hear what you pick!
