Sharing a beautiful fall tablescape created with layered dishware and decor from Hobby Lobby. A guide to follow to select the perfect pieces for an autumn-inspired table to enjoy with friends and family.

Fall has set in and so have all the preparations for autumn baking, decorating, and entertaining!

As I have been baking my favorite recipes and pulling out my pumpkin decor, I thought it was time to get my dining table pulled together for our first gathering of the season.

We love to have friends over to enjoy some home-cooked meals and Lauren has been starting to bake more and more.

This is the perfect time to set a fall-inspired table for a small get-together with friends or even as a beautiful seasonal tablescape for Thanksgiving.

I headed to one of my favorite places to snag on-trend home decor and crafting essentials, Hobby Lobby.

They make it so easy to shop their store with seasonally organized aisles as well as curated collections of home decor and crafts.

Not to mention their 50% off Fall decor sale, making it affordable to elevate your autumn decor.

A fall table set with shades of oranges and taupe linens

I shared a couple of weeks ago my favorite fall home decor finds from Hobby Lobby I snagged this season, as well as some shopping tips to find and pull together a fall easily. Head over there for an insider peek!

Okay, so one of the first things to do when you are decorating a fall tablescape is to come up with a color scheme. So here are a couple of my favorites.

Favorite fall color combinations:

    • Gold and Hunter Green
    • Amber Orange and Mustard Yellow
    • Gold and Burgundy
    • Eggplant Purple and Green
    • Navy Blue and Mustard Yellow
    • Wheat Tan and Cinnamon Brown

Layered linens in shades of orange and taupe

I chose this beautiful beige linen ruffled tablecloth and layered it over a multi-hued leaf tablecloth that I folded in half.

I love the mix of shades and it makes the table setting more unique when linens are mixed together.

How to create a layered fall tablescape:

So now that you have selected your color scheme and linens, it’s time to add in the dishes.

My favorite way to make a setting look layered is with the dishes. This is an easy way to add color and mix and match patterns.

I choose these beautiful rich bronze-colored chargers that have the sweetest beaded edge detail.

Then used these whimsical brush-stroked dishes to coordinate.

A gold and white fall napkin layered on a check patterned plate and a bronze color pumpkin.

Next, add a linen napkin. I choose this lux-looking gold leaf napkin and simply folded it over the brown and white plate.

It could also be gathered and tucked through a napkin ring to be placed on the side of the place setting. Either would be beautiful.

Lastly, add in a fall accent piece. I found these gorgeous bronze-colored pumpkins at Hobby Lobby and used them in the center of my plate. Then tucked a eucalyptus sprig off to the side of it for a touch of greenery.

How to create a layered fall centerpiece.

The most simple way to decorate the center of your table is to start with a focal point.

Amber colored vase with ivory colored flowers in the center of the table

I love this amber jar and added a mix of these cream berry picks and a cream peony bush to be the centerpiece of my table design.

Ambere colored tapered candle holders

I found these amber tapered candlestick holders at Hobby Lobby and they have a gorgeous glow when the candles are lit up.

I placed these on either side of the vase and mixed in some battery-operated candles of varying heights to fill in between.

There can never be enough pumpkins and an easy way to not make it look cluttered is to add neutral white ones for a subtle seasonal pop.
