Even with Christmas this week, I am still one of those people that never stop decorating. It brings me such joy and I can’t help myself!
I love to shop affordable home decor at Walmart and especially last minute they are stock high with pieces to use this holiday time and transition into the winter season. They make it so easy to shop online and pick up in-store. I use this feature often, especially when I am last minute!
My back patio has been somewhat ignored since the summer. I attempted to decorate it for fall and got halfway through it then stopped. It was such a busy fall!
But with the holiday break here and my family home, now was the time to get it fixed up so we can enjoy it with lots of hot cocoa and s’mores nights.

Our patio is divided up into three spaces and we use them all equally. But the coziest spot is right here on our outdoor sectional right in front of the fireplace.
Creating A Cozy Outdoor Space for The Holidays:
I wanted a classic holiday color scheme out here and choose this red plaid as the main theme.
I love that Walmart had some many items in this red plaid to coordinate all my decor. It made it so easy to pull the whole space together.
The pillow game is strong at Walmart and I started all my decor plans from these amazing red plaid pillow covers. They come in a set of 2 and I put them over on our chairs at the table too.
They are so soft and I love the pattern and color pop. And by the way, they are less than $10 for the set!
Give me anything fur at this time of year and this faux fur blanket is so soft, warm, and cozy. You can’t beat the price either!
And how cute is this JOY pillow?!! It is such a soft burlap fabric.
This hyacinth woven tray is one of those pieces you can use year-round. I love a good woven piece because it adds so much texture.
Everyone needs Santa mugs for the holiday season. They are so cheerful and a nod to beautiful antique ones I had as a kid. My daughter loves to drink hot cocoa from them and they make a gorgeous display. I have a ton of yummy hot cocoa recipes also for you to make with your family to add a little variety.
**Remember to grab lots of marshmallows when you are at Walmart!
I love a good candle and add them to my patio year-round. This spicy cinnamon stick candle is SO yummy smelling and I love it mixed with the smell from our firewood. I actually love it so much that I got one for inside the house too.

I love having this space next to the door to collect all the things I may need for our family nights out back. I am obsessed with this faux marble tray. It looks high end and is easy to wipe clean from spills and messes.
I placed the rest of our santa mugs here for easy access.
You might notice these adorable little trees sprinkled with little crystal snow and wrapped in the same burlap as the pillows from the sofa. They are a great way to coordinate the pattern and color to each area.
I found tons of beautiful gift boxes at Walmart to decorate (and use later!) the patio with and popped some of them on my barcart.
We have this great eating area and I love to sit out here and have my coffee in the mornings.
I found this set of 3 mini wreaths that have the same plaid fabric as the ribbon on the top of the wreaths. I used clear zip ties and added them to the back of our chairs.
It’s all about the ambiance at night and I love a good collection of candles glowing. Walmart has so many beautiful options for battery-operated candles to make it easy to grab a variety to make a gorgeous display like this. I picked up this 5″ one , this 9″ candle, and this one with a realistic flameless LED light.
I just used a couple of these eucalyptus garlands and one of the little trees for a simple yet impactful display.
Of course, I added more holiday bows and weaved them into the back of my woven chairs.
And friends I made it super easy for you to recreate this for your family this week to enjoy over the holidays. Just grab all the links below, add them to your cart and select store pick up!
I hope you loved my simple and affordable ideas to create a cozy outdoor space with beautiful pieces from Walmart for the holidays!

Wow, that looks so comfy and cosy. I’m in PA so having an outside space in December is hard even with our partially covered patio. I love the plaid pillows, it would work great for my sofa. Thanks for sharing!
