In my career of design work, we have always tackled projects from a function standpoint and then focus on the beauty. I have never thought you had to sacrifice one or the other in design. Last year, I teamed up with Delta Faucet for this incredible bathroom makeover and am so excited to partner with them again this year. They are an innovative leader in kitchen and bath faucets. Their powerful “See Beautiful Design Do Beautiful Work” motto resonates in all their designs.
A few weeks back, I attended the Delta Faucet ShieldSpray™ Launch party in New York City which you might have seen me post about on Instagram. We cooked up a storm in the Food52 Test Kitchen (which was so incredibly beautiful!) and saw how easy it was to clean up our mess with the new Delta Esque faucet with ShieldSpray™ Technology. It definitely transforms the way you work in your kitchen.
I was very excited to test this out in my own kitchen too. I chose the Delta Faucet Esque™. It is so sleek looking and comes in four finishes. I chose the Chrome and just love the shine to it. The Esque has a tall curved neck and elegant modern look. The high arc makes it perfect for filling pots and other cumbersome containers. So perfect for my transitional kitchen.
There is also an integrated TempSense LED indicator that shows water temperature. It is blue when cold and progresses to red the hotter the water gets.
The faucet with ShieldSpray Technology is not only gorgeous, but helps fight the mess of hard-to-clean dishes and kitchen appliances.
The technology has laser-like precision while containing mess and splatter using an innovative water shield. The bubble envelopes the splash preventing overspray. Thankfully this helps me get things cleaned up in the kitchen quicker AND saves my clothes.
So I put this to the test and created a few drink recipes for a girl’s night in using my blender over and over. I got myself ready first then got cracking!
ShieldSpray™ Technology from Delta® Faucet:
Challenge 1:
First up is one of my favorite drinks to make! I made my Cherry Ginger Beer Slushie. This bright red and colorful drink is always a hit when I serve it. BUT it is such a mess to clean up.
I always have to be super careful because the cherries stain my clothes really easily. I was so impressed that the ShieldSpray bubble of water did not splash the water and residue of the cherries. Everything stayed in the sink and not on my white shirt!
Challenge 2:
So I started on my next drink recipe, Classic Eggnog. This one is quintessential this time of year and rather than buy the premade at the store, I like to make it from scratch. This means a lot of eggs, nutmeg, milk and a few other special ingredients (maybe someday I’ll tell you!).

It is a gorgeous bright yellow and I like to top it off with whipped cream and some sprinkled nutmeg on top.
Ingredients
- 5 Egg Yolks
- 3/4 Cup Sugar
- 1 Cup Heavy Cream
- 2 Cup Milk
- 1-1/4 Cup Bourbon
- 1/4 Cup Spiced Rum
- 1/8 Tsp Salt
- 1 Tsp Vanilla
- 1/2 Tsp Nutmeg + For Garnish
- Whipped Cream
Instructions
- Add egg yolks and sugar to blender. Blend until combined.
- Add remaining ingredients and pulse until well blended.
- Pour into glasses and garnish with whipped cream and nutmeg.
Once again, my faucet was up to the challenge and got my blender squeaky clean, even in the blade area that hides mess, for me to make yet another drink before my guests arrived.
Challenge 3:
This time I made a non-alcoholic drink and concocted a rich Spiced Christmas Coffee. This one is thick and brown with yogurt and coffee.
It sure is delicious with a little cinnamon sprinkled on top after it’s been blended and frothy.
And once again my faucet came to the rescue! I am so impressed with the ShieldSpray Technology and how it works to truly help me combat my mess and quickly.
Needless to say, my friends had a great time and my kitchen was company ready in no time.
