Happy Fall ABN readers! It’s me, Cecilia, from Home with Keki, and I am so happy to be back sharing some tips on one of my favorite colors and how to decorate with orange. Now, I know neutrals and whites have been all the rage. But in all honesty, I am so happy I kept my favorite colors in my home like my blues and pops of orange and red. Because, guess what? Bold colors are making their comeback and what better way to start Fall than sharing how to decorate with orange.
How to Decorate with Orange:
I love to decorate with orange, especially in the Fall, but, this color has been hiding in the woodwork and is coming out as the new “blue.” From wallpapers, to accents accessories and furnishings, decorating with orange will truly take transform your space. So, here are a few ways to decorate with orange.
-
Accessories
If you aren’t ready to invest in wallpaper, paint a wall, or buy an orange chair, adding orange accessories is a safe start. From lamps to vases that can be easily interchangeable.

Pops of Orange Pillows or Blankets
Another easy addition to your space can be in throw pillows. I change out my pillows every season, and orange definitely is a color I use all Fall. I love how it works well with all the blue in my home without overpowering the space.

Repurpose an old piece
I love repurposes an old piece. A vintage parsons table, to a mirror frame can easily handle a strong pop of orange and won’t break the budget. You can even re-upholster an old bench in a fun new fabric, I love an x-bench that makes a statement.

HOW TO SELECT THE PERFECT ORANGE PAINT COLOR:
- A shade will look different from one room to the next due to lighting
- Always paint a 4×4 swatch on the wall to see if it will work
- Always paint 2-3 coats at least for a realistic swatch on the wall
- Pop the trim in a white for a dramatic effect
- Use accessories in the same shade to give your wall color some depth
I have never been a big fan of orange but I have smiled at each and every one of these photos. I love it all.
