How To Layer A Bed With A Duvet

Now that you know it is essential to add a duvet to your mix of bedding on your bed, let’s go over how to do this properly.

Start with a mattress pad and/or fitted sheet: Begin with a clean and well-fitted mattress cover or fitted sheet to create a smooth foundation for your bedding.
Add a flat sheet: Some people like to use a flat sheet between the fitted sheet and the duvet. If you choose to use one, spread it evenly over the mattress, tucking in the sides and foot of the bed.
Add a lightweight blanket or coverlet: Add a lightweight blanket or coverlet on top of your flat sheet. This is an extra layer of warmth that is especially nice to have in the colder months.
Place duvet on top: You can either place the duvet directly over the blanket/coverlet or you can fold it to lay across the bottom of the bed to make it look extra fluffy.

Should you tuck a duvet into a mattress

Typically you do not tuck a duvet into a mattress.
